The policies of Fearless Dance were designed to promote an organized, professional studio and to create a positive learning environment for your child. By following these policies you will help create the best dance experience possible and will help your child to excel at the art of dance.
NO GUM OR SNACKS ON THE DANCE FLOOR, AND WATER ONLY.
Practice Attire
All dancers are required to have their hair off their face: bun, pony tail, braids, etc. This is less distracting for the dancer. Just like soccer or hockey, proper shoes help your dancer be successful. Please make sure to buy the required footwear for classes!
Ballet, lyrical and Creative Movement: Pink tights, black leo, and pink ballet shoes. Hair in bun. For boys: Black ballet shoes, black pants, black or white shirt.
Jazz, contemporary: Pink, black, or tan tights, black leo, black shorts, capris, or pants. NO BAGGY CLOTHING. Black or tan jazz shoes, half soles, dance paws, or foot undeez. Keep in mind that for the recital, all dancers will need to be wearing a full coverage jazz shoe. For boys: black jazz shoe, black pants, black or white shirt.
Musical Theater and Ballroom: Attire same as Jazz. Your instructor will let you know what shoes you need for the styles you’re learning.
Acro/Tumble: Tight fitting, stretchy clothing, or leotard (preferred).
Cheer: Stretchy comfortable clothing. White, lace up, CLEAN BOTTOM sneakers.
Hip-hop: CLEAN BOTTOM sneakers, athletic wear, or whatever you feel comfortable in. Hats are allowed, unless they become a distraction. NO JEANS. NO CROCS.
Insurance
Fearless dance does not carry medical insurance for its students. It is required that all dance students be covered by their own family insurance policies and if injury occurs it is understood that the student’s own policy is your only source of reimbursement.
Snow or Bad Weather
The studio will usually follow the Bethel School district decision on class cancellation for bad weather. You can check our Facebook page for updates. Fearless Dance reserves the right to cancel classes at our discretion. We will not put any child or our staff in danger due to weather. Any classes that are missed or canceled can be made-up by attending another class close to the same level.
Attendance and Tardiness
Every class at Fearless Dance is a step forward in the educational journey of our students. Regular attendance is essential for continual progress and growth. Remember that with each class our teachers are presenting new information, new vocabulary and new dance steps so it is imperative to prioritize not missing classes in an effort to set your dancer up for success in their dance class. If you are going to be absent, please notify the studio as soon as you can (you can do this right on your parent portal!). Missed classes will not be deducted from tuition payments. The student will be responsible for learning choreography that was missed. If attendance becomes a problem, it will be discussed with the parent with the possibility of not being able to participate in an upcoming performance if we feel the student isn’t properly prepared. In regards to level placement, attendance has a heavy factor in advancing.
Dance is a physical activity that requires a properly warm-up body to ensure safe movement execution. Students who arrive late miss out on the essential warm-up and/or barre exercises, which may increase the risk of injury. It can also hold the other members of the class back from learning material when we have to relearn things missed. To prioritize the safety and well-being of our students, those arriving more than 15 minutes late may be asked to observe the class. We want all our dancers to enjoy their dance journey while staying safe and injury-free.
Make-Up Policy
If for any reason your child cannot attend class, they are encouraged to attend a make-up class within the month. (No extra charge for make-up.) Contact front desk for options.
Dropping off and picking up dancers
We kindly ask students arrive 10 minutes before their class begins, allowing them to prepare for class and use the bathroom if needed. To ensure the safety of our young dancers, children under the age of 10 should be picked up promptly after their class. Please understand that we are unable to assume responsibility for students before or after their scheduled classes, so it is essential for parents to ensure timely drop-off and pick-up. In the case of a late pickup, please call the studio and be sure your child knows to always wait inside the building. .
Communication
All communication would be best sent to our email at FEARLESSDANCENW@GMAIL.COM,, or calling/texting 509-560-4151. Please do not contact any employees of Fearless Dance on their private social media accounts or personal cell phones. You can also schedule a special “parent/teacher” conference with your instructor in person or on the phone outside of dance hours if you feel there is a need. I want you to be involved in your child’s learning and dance experience and I would love to discuss your concerns with you. Your child deserves the very best, and if you feel like he/she needs different instruction, or just a change, please talk to me and I will help you to find a studio that will help them succeed!
Lobby Area
Please be careful of conversation topics in the lobby. There are many “little ears” around. Please do not use adult language, talk about adult topics, or other students and parents. This is not appropriate for the lobby area. If you have a problem regarding the teacher, other students, or parents, please call me to discuss it. Gossip or "mean-girling" will not be tolerated. We are very protective of the environment we've created.
Tuition and Payments
Tuition is posted on the 1st of the month, with auto-pay run on the 5th. A late fee will be assessed on the 10th. Tuition is non- refundable for dance and preschool.
Dropping Classes
If your child has decided to not attend class anymore, you must let me know IN WRITING (email, text, or letter) with 30 days notice; otherwise you will be billed accordingly. There are no "holds/freezes" on classes or tuition. If you drop a class and resume during the same year, you will be subject to another registration fee.
Discipline in class
There is a difference between a distracted kiddo and a distracting kiddo. We invite invite invite when a child is distracted. If a child is distracting, we will use a three strike policy. They are warned that if they keep up distracting behavior that is affecting other students, they will be asked to sit with their grown up in the lobby. If they are still distracting we send them to their grown up for a break and they can come back in to try again when ready. If they again repeat distracting behavior, we chalk it up to a hard day and ask them to come back next week and try again!
